About The Author

Amy Lauren Miller has been writing creatively since – well, since she could write! From a young age, Lauren began creating poetry and song lyrics. Building on this natural form of self-expression, she has used her writing talent in her career as a College Counselor while continuing to write creatively as an outlet for her many observations and interests. Thanks to the encouragement of her son (also a writer) and Richard Paul Evans’ Author Ready Program, she is now taking the next step and sharing her work on a larger scale. Lauren’s debut children’s book, Blue Bruce the Christmas Spruce, is a collaboration with one of her favorite people, artist Maggie Russell.

Lauren writes stories for children as well as poems and essays about her life and the world around her. Her stories for children highlight overcoming challenges and celebrating our distinctive and sometime quirky characteristics. While her poetry and essays cover a broad range of topics, they generally center on love or the disruption of it.

Lauren is married to her patient and steadfast husband, and is mother to her inspiring and talented son. Together they have built their life in West Tennessee with their two goofy, loyal dogs (Risky and Bunji) and one unruly, domineering cat (TC).
